Former St. Joseph Star Evan Turner Of Ohio State Named Big 10 Player Of The Week For A Record 6th Time This Season Hoops Illinois February 23, 2010 Former St. Joseph High School star Evan Turner of Ohio State University has been named Big 10 Player of the Week for the 6th time this season, which sets a new conference record for the number of times that one player has won the award during the season. Turner averaged 24.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists as Ohio State lost to Purdue, and defeated Michigan State. Turner currently leads the Big 10 Conference in scoring (19.5 ppg) and rebounding (9.3 rpg), and is second in assists (5.8 apg). Turner now also holds the Big 10 record for most Player of the Week honors during a career with 9 awards. |
