Rahjan Muhammad, And 25-1 Neuqua Valley Set To Tangle With High-Scoring Jay Harris, And Oswego East On Tuesday Night Brian Stinnette February 22, 2010 Neuqua Valley is set to travel to Oswego East on Tuesday night for a showdown game that will match Jay Harris, who has had games of 47 and 44 points this season, against a strong Neuqua Valley team looking to maintain momentum as they prepare to make a run at advancing downstate in the IHSA Class 4A state tournament. Neuqua Valley enters the contest with a 23-1 record, and are led by their dynamic senior trio of Dwayne Evans (St. Louis), Kareem Amedu (St. Michael's) and Rahjan Muhammad. Neuqua Valley has compiled an eye-popping 56-3 record over the course of the past two years, and the team still has a chip on it's shoulder from losing to Dundee-Crown last March in the NIU SuperSectional. Oswego East comes in with a record of 20-4, and are led by uncommitted Class of 2010 star Jay Harris. Harris, a 6'1" guard, is one of the top scorer's in the state of Illinois, and has registered games of 47 points and 44 points in games over the course of the past month. The game could hinge on the head-to-head match-up of Muhammad, who is a hard-nosed defender, against the high-scoring Harris. However, Oswego East must also find a way to keep Evans and Amedu from dominating inside. The game is set for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off at Oswego East. |
