Class of 2011 Crete-Monee star Jamie Crockett has given a verbal commitment to play his college basketball in the Big East Conference for head coach Oliver Purnell, and the DePaul Blue Demons. Crockett rates as one of the top 2011 prospects in the state of Illinois.

Crockett, a 6'4" guard/forward, is most known for his stunning athleticism. Crockett has a strong frame, and does an outstanding job of using his athleticism to his advantage around the basket. He has three-point range on his jumper, and is a strong rebounder.

Crockett has been very good this spring with excellent showings at the ChicagoHoops.com Spring Tip-Off Classic, the Nike Spring Showdown, and was also very strong for a shorthanded Mac Irvin Fire team at the Spiece Run N' Slam in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Crockett becomes DePaul's first verbal for the 2011 recruiting class. Billy Garrett was the lead recruiter for DePaul with Crockett.

Crockett, and his Mac Irvin Fire teammates will be in action during the July Evaluation Period July 9-11 at the Nike Summer Slam Fest in Merrillville, Indiana.
